Logs, before they go through the saw , have the bark removed to ensure that the log is clean of all dirt and debris so as not to unnecessarily dull the saw blade .

This process produces bark in mass quantities which is sold to local companies and turned into bark mulch which is sold in bulk or bags to customers up and down the East Coast.
